2017 MRP Season

2017 MRP Season
The power of our MRP tribe

From that very first time when our children stepped onto a rugby field in 2014, something special happened.

For the first time in a long time, we belonged.

We belonged to each other and also enabled a community to embrace us, our needs and the needs of our children too.

By coming together, we had created our own community – our MRP tribe –  with the power to inspire us, lift us up when we’re down and help the world experience the amazing contribution made by our children.

With only one week left of our Trial Extension of the MRP 7s using PlayerMentors from St. Ritas and Brisbane Girls Grammar School, our 2017 MRP season will soon officially end.

We already feel a sense of loss in not being with you – our tribe – for some months.

In the blog this week I miss my MRP Tribe – I’ve shared some thoughts around this which was inspired by a wonderful piece about the Power of Tribes by Kate Smith our supporter, our friend and MRP champion.

Please read and share Kate’s wonderful piece and we’d love to hear your thoughts about the power of tribes as well.

As always, thank you for our passion and support for our vision:

  • To move more girls, boys and young adults with learning and perceptual disabilities off the sidelines and into the main guide
  • To nurture a generation of young people for whom disability is normalised.

Our best,

Megan and Anthony Elliott
