Our Modified Rugby Program requires Player Mentors!
The MRP needs you!
The MRP Colts program is aimed at getting 14-19 year old’s with learning a perceptual disabilities off the side line and into the main game. We want to help the community create a place where these young adults have a place where they feel safe, where they are understood and where they belong in the long term. Each MRP Player in the program will be matched one-on-one with a young adult (PlayerMentor) to ensure the safety and development of the each player is at full capacity.
That’s where you come in – we need PlayerMentors!
We’re expanding the MRP Colts division from one club at Wests Bulldogs at Toowong to four clubs in 2018. Brothers Rugby Club, Easts Rugby Club and UQ Rugby Club have confirmed they will host MRP Colts teams in 2018.
In terms of timing, the MRP runs on-field in Term 2 of the school term (generally after Easter until mid-July) on a Friday afternoon for training and Saturday morning for matches. The first game will be April 21st with our final game on the 23rd of June.
Easts Rugby’s very own Todd Dawson is Head Coach of the 2018 MRP Colts side in 2018 so any questions please shoot him a message, otherwise get in contact with any of the MRP team.
