Grant Hanham was the epitome of a Tiger for Life. After arriving from New Zealand in the 1970s, Grant found his home at Easts Rugby. He was a pioneer in launching fundraising initiatives alongside the May Committee, forming enduring friendships and becoming a Permanent Member of the club.
Grant’s unwavering commitment was recognised in 2007 when he was awarded Life Membership of Easts, following his outstanding service as President during the 2000-2004. One of his most significant contributions was playing an integral role in installing lights on David Wilson Field—a lasting legacy for future generations.
All four of Grant’s sons proudly played at Easts, and now the third generation of Hanhams can be found excelling in both the senior men’s and junior programs.
Grant Hanham will be profoundly missed by the Tiger community. His name will forever echo in Tigerland, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for everything he gave to the club.
