Registrations for the 2025 Junior Rugby season are open!
Volunteers are encouraged to apply for roles such as coach or manager across various age groups, from Tiger Cubs to U15s, including Girls’ 7s and XVs. Applicants are asked to provide relevant qualifications and experience, including whether they hold a Blue Card.

For our introduction to Rugby Program is designed to introduce children under the age of 5 to Rugby. Pony Club focusses on gross motor skills with fun-based games, all while encompassing the key elements of Rugby Union.
U4: Players born in 2021 & U5: Players born in 2020

Training: Friday Nights 4:30-5:30 (excluding school holidays)

The U6 & U7 age groups are introduced to basic rugby skills through a non-contact 6-a-side competition scheduled by the BJRU. The competition is mixed and is a great opportunity for a first taste of Rugby.
U6: Players born in 2019 & U7: Players born in 2018

Training: Friday nights 5:00-6:00pm
Games: Saturday Mornings from 8:00 AM

The U8 & U9 age groups then progress to a 7-a-side and 10-a-side tackle competition respectively. Sides play within BJRU organised fixtures, with rules adhering to the ARU and World Rugby Pathway competition laws.

The first state of Rugby on a full-sized field. U10-U12 Pathway laws have been developed to increase activity levels for maximum participation and enjoyment. The Pathway provides an integrated and consistent approach to the development of U6 to U12 players, coaches and referees nationally. In the U10 and U11 age groups grading does not occur. However, in U12 the club undertakes grading across the whole cohort to alleviate potential safety concerns.
