Modified Rugby Program
Modified Rugby Program (MRP)
The **Modified Rugby Program (MRP)** is an initiative developed by the Ginger Cloud Foundation. It provides an inclusive rugby experience for children and young people with learning and perceptual disabilities. The program is designed to help these individuals play rugby in a supportive and structured environment, enabling them to develop both social and physical skills.
Key features of the Modified Rugby Program include
Mentor-based support
Each player in the MRP is paired with a mentor, who helps guide them through the game, ensuring their safety and that they are engaged.
Tailored rules
The rules of rugby are modified to suit the needs of participants, making it a fun and accessible experience for players of all abilities.
Team integration
The MRP focuses on integrating players with disabilities into mainstream rugby communities, allowing them to be part of a team and fostering a sense of belonging.
This program is aimed at creating a more inclusive sports culture, promoting the development of participants both on and off the field. It emphasizes teamwork, confidence-building, and personal growth.
