Easts Rugby is proud to champion gender equality within our club, working to break down barriers of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. In 2025, the International Women’s Day theme is Accelerate Action, and we are embracing this by hosting a special breakfast to raise funds for our Women’s and Junior Girls programs. These initiatives aim to create equal opportunities for women in rugby and beyond.
Our IWD Breakfast will be hosted by Libby Nankivell, Vice President of Queensland Rugby. The event will feature a dynamic panel discussion with Stephanie Karvelis, General Manager of Sunnybank Rugby, and Kirsten Pike, Chair of Cricket Queensland, who will share their insights and experiences as trailblazers in sports leadership.
Guests will enjoy a delicious hot breakfast, accompanied by tea, coffee, and fresh fruits. After the formal proceedings, there will be an opportunity to network with the remarkable women and male allies in the room, fostering connections and conversations about driving meaningful change.
