Queensland Reds utility Taj Annan has been installed at flyhalf by Souths for Saturday’s lift-off to the StoreLocal Hospital Cup season.Annan and Reds flanker John Bryant have both been included in the starting side by Magpies coach Garrick Morgan for the clash against Norths at Chipsy Wood Oval.
Bryant, Kohan Herbert and Sean Farrell will form a strong Souths backrow.
Bond University have paired Jordan Lenac and Fred Dorrough as halfback and flyhalf to run the show against Sunnybank on the Gold Coast.
Experienced Jake Upfield is at No.8.
Brothers Dan and Ben Byrne are both in the GPS pack to take on Easts at Yoku Road where Marist College Ashgrove product Campbell Moller will feel at home making his Premier Rugby debut at outside centre.
Halfback Jakob Morrison will feed No.10 Sebastian Ward.
For the Tigers, Villanova product James Livingstone gets the chance to excel at No.8 in a young pack beside locks Xavier Boyle and Fred Fewtrell.
At Sci-Fleet Stadium, UQ will get strong direction in the pack, from experienced lock Adam Korczyk and flanker Conor Mitchell, when they face Wests.
For Wests, Henry Speight and Ilikena Vudogo form a frightening pairing on the wings while Moses Sorovi and Louis Werchon will pair in the halves.
